I just found some random online strategy game... The idea is sort of similar with MR or GA. Buuuut... It has some basic graphics in it. Like you can see a picture of your village or realm or planet or whatever, you can see how your buildings look like etc.
I think if GA/MR will step up a bit and change from a text game which is now into a more graphical game (and I talk here about pictures not about any flash crap), it would make it much more attractive.
What do u guys think?
It's been discussed before, and the best one so far (mine of course) is to make a high-fi and a low-fi version of the game. This would be an option you can have in account control, much like the one that says wether or not you want to see system banners or not.
The high-fi gets the l33t skin, pictures and makeover, while the low-fi looks just like the one now.
And didn't you "quit" online game????!

Hehehe, I sure did... One friend of mine found some online game and tried to drag me in to it... I tried to get him into MR/ST as well... Well, he thought they are crappy and signing up was a waste of time... So I checked out the game he was playing... And indeed, it felt very nice and friendly... And the reason behind it is, IMO, the fact that it has some graphics with it.

im not sure if that would bring in more players per say. but wouldnt it slow the server down a bit?

This is something I thought about years ago... and I may still do it. Make a GA-spesific browser, or possibly a firefox extension, that gives the game a light graphical interface.

fire fox might be more flexible to do something like that. but i think Duras means Small like 100*100 pix of anything that can be uploaded to the server so that others can see.. like a profile pix.

Would be very simple to include that in such a project. But I don't think I will do this unless the game changes enough for me to consider rejoining...
